Every framedeservesa second life

We write your name, draw your face in Arabic letters, and set down the words that matter to you — with a reed qalam and traditional ink, inside old frames rescued from oblivion.

What we write

Three doors, one hand

Most of our work revolves around: quotes, names, faces.

A wall of mismatched frames holding calligraphy and a ceramic plate

The story

Every frame had a first life.

A faded photo, a forgotten certificate, a picture that no longer suits the wall. Instead of ending in the skip, these frames are gathered, restored, and given words worth hanging.

  1. Rescue

We hunt frames with character: antique gilt, carved wood, tarnished brass.

  2. Write

With reed and ink on cotton paper — one gesture, no erasing, no retouching.

  3. Reframe

The words settle into their new frame with a chosen mat, ready to hang.

Names

Your name, written as if it were made for it

Every name has its own rhythm: we pick the script that suits its letters, then dress it in ornament, a frame or a colour that feels like its owner.

  • كاميليا

    Camélia

A gold-illuminated cartouche around the name, in a gilt frame.

  • نسرين

    Nesrine

Gold and lapis flowers curling around the letters.

  • موسى

    Moussa

A gold mountain woven from letters behind bold black ink.

Portraits

Faces written, not painted

It starts with a photo and ends as a piece you can read: the face in a single line, clothing and hair made of letters, ornament and gold.

  1. Send a clear photo
  2. The face is drawn in ink
  3. Clothing is woven from letters
  • The Halo

Lapis and gold, a robe woven from letters.

  • The Poet

Verses surround the face like a frame made of words.

A reed cut at an angle, giving each letter its thick and thin.

  • The ink

Traditional black ink, with gold for details and diacritics.

  • The paper

Cotton paper for special pieces, standard or tinted paper for smaller works.

  • The frame

The hand behind Taqwa

Patient writing, made to last

Taqwa is a small studio marrying traditional Arabic calligraphy with the reuse of frames. Every piece is written in a single sitting, then finds the frame that was waiting for it. [Placeholder text — to be replaced with the artist’s own.]
